I’m glad to say that Ember and Ash has made it through the copy edit stage and will be coming out early next year. I’ll be putting a preview chapter up before then, so watch this space! Also, check out this review of the Castings Trilogy at Australian Speculative Fiction in Focus - couldn’t ask for a better reader! US and UK readers should also watch out for an omnibus edition of the trilogy, coming soon.

I’m very excited and pleased to announce that my children’s book, Victor’s Challenge, has won an Aurealis Award this year. Many thanks to Kim Gamble, the wonderful illustrator of the Victor books, and to all the people at Walker Books. Especial thanks to all the Aurealis team, who have worked very VERY hard to make the Aurealis Awards one of the highlights of the literary year. Congratulations to all the other winners - it was a terrific night… photos soon.

I will be at Top Ryde (Sydney) Angus & Robertson bookshop (in the new mall) on Tuesday, 22nd December, at 11am to sign books - you can bring any pre-loved ones along and I’d be delighted to sign those too! Also, check out my post as guest blogger at graspingforthewind.com where I talk about all the things an author does apart from writing! And finally, have a wonderful Christmas and New Year with lots of good reading!

| Getting Full Circle |
September 23rd, 2009
|

|
Some people have reported difficulties in finding Full Circle in the bookshops, particularly in WA. In one shop it was shelved under ’self-help’ for some bizarre reason, so make sure you ask at the desk if it’s not on the SF shelves. You can definitely order it online from gleebooks.com.au. They have it in stock. Frustrating to know that people who want to read the book can’t get it! Arrgh!

| Full Circle arrives! |

I’m looking with great satisfaction at the advance copy of Full Circle (Book 3). It’s very beautiful! It’s odd to think that this started 13 years ago when I wrote the first chapter of Blood Ties as a short story. 450 000 words later…. Full Circle will be in the shops in Australia in September and in the US and UK later in the year. Many thanks to all the people at Orbit Books who have been involved, especially my peerless editor/publisher, Bernadette Foley.

I’m busily proofreading the first pages of Full Circle for its September launch in Australia, but for those of you who can’t wait, I’ve put a new story set in the Domains on the Deep Water page. Otlee’s Story is set in Foreverfroze, the harbour/fishing town of the Far North Domain. I hope you like it!
